Join El Sendero-NCW, a Wenatchee based backcountry ski and snowshoe club for an easy snowshoe hike this Saturday, Jan. 12 at 9:30am. We will meet at the "Big Y" park and ride at 9:30 and form into carpools for the short drive up to Blewett Pass. I scouted out a road this summer that I hope leads to great views and no snowmobile traffic. The hike begins just off Hiway 97 and climbs on an old logging road for 3 miles to the top. Parking at the trailhead may be a problem so Plan B is to go to Swauk campground sno-park; if you have a sno-park permit for your vehicle please bring it.
Dogs are welcome. Don't forget your lunch, a sit pad and an extra jacket for when we sit down for lunch at the top. If you need to borrow a pair of snowshoes contact Gus Bekker at 509-667-8681 or email
