Lake Wenatchee to Little Wenatchee Paddle

Paul and Muriel Milem took advantage of our beautiful weather earlier this month and canoed up the Little Wenatchee from Glacier View Campground on Lake Wenatchee. The flat water and gorgeous fall colors made the paddle an immediate favorite.

Crescent Bar Autumn Paddle

Paul and Muriel Milem took advantage of the weather to paddle segments of the Columbia River around Central Washington. They circumnavigated Crescent Bar and had such a good time, they did the same trip two days in a row.  We think this segment deserves another paddle this fall.

Hanford Reach - Columbia River

The Hanford Reach is billed as the last free-flowing stretch of the Columbia River in the United States. That's true. Upper Chiwawa - As Fun as Ebola

Earlier this summer Kathy and Dick Spencer decided to paddle the Upper Chiwawa. It wasn't in any of their books on Washington rivers, but was listed on some websites (including this one). Their conclusion:  If giardia, botulism, and ebola sound like fun, run this river.

Cle Elum River - Lower

As long as there is a good snowpack and the reservoir is full, this dam-controlled run usually has good flows throughout the summer. The run has fairly continuous class II rapids with some good wave trains. Advanced beginners will find the run enjoyable at low flows but there are fewer eddies at higher flows.
