The Colors of Touring

My daughter paints in oils. One of her paintings of a goat’s face looks realistic from a distance but is a swatch book or color when examined closely. “There are so many colors within color,” she has told me. I decide to practice observing like an artist on an early morning ski tour.

Sage Hills Winter Closure

December 1, 2015. The trails throughout the Sage Hills and the Horse Lake area have closed for the winter and will not reopen until April 1, 2016. Local walkers can still use the trails around Saddle Rock, Dry Gulch, and Castle Rock. Read why the trails close each winter.

Rocky Reach Trail - Alive at Last

At the ribbon cutting ceremony for the dedication of the newly completed Rocky Reach Trail, Bob Parlette joked that there were times he didn't think he'd live to see this day. The community owes Parlette--the very reason this new riverside trail exists is simply because Parlette wouldn't let it (or himself) die.
