Wenatchee River Mountain Bike Ride

Above: The Wenatchee River Road -- a beauty this time of year.

by Rob Mullins

The corn-snow skiing on Friday was great, but the weekend forecast was too warm for skiing. For a family outing we decided on an overnight mountain bike trip on the Wenatchee River. The areas beyond the decommissioned road are increasingly pristine with grass now growing over the old roads and vehicle tracks.

Below are some pictures of the ride, which pretty well tell the story. Our daughter Erin has grown into a full-sized bike, since I last wrote about this ride.

Details about the length and difficulty of this ride, accessing it, camping (if you want to it as a family overnight rather than a day trip), are
listed in this post (also by Rob) and in our mountain biking guidebook at this link.  And here's a map of the route.
